Gary Neville thinks that Rafael da Silva has the ability to become a Manchester United legend.
The young Brazilian right-back is currently behind Patrice Evra when it comes to team selection, but his predecessor thinks that he is on the way to being first choice in that position.
“I think he is more than capable of becoming the United right-back for many many years.
“His performance in the last six months in particular has been brilliant. He has really matured and come of age.
“Rafael has always had the ability, comes quickly to the ball, is aggressive, he defends his position well, is tough, brave, good with the ball and supplies power to the attack, but he has really developed over the past six months with games and experience.
“He also has a great attitude.”
Neville decided to retire last week and it has been suggested that he is going to stay on at the club as a coach.
Giving encouragement to the younger team-mates is certainly a sign that he is willing to help them grow into United stars of the future.
